What font do you use? It’s funny as an Accountant I never thought much about the fonts that I used. As usually the first one from default worked well, but with publishing and writing it’s a whole new ballgame.
I noticed that some are fancy and some are almost robotic. When designing a cover it’s very important to use a font that’s appealing to the eye and catches attention. But if you’re creating an e-book, make sure it’s readable in a thumbnail. Hadn’t thought about that until I read it one day while reading a Writer’s magazine. I started watching my fonts then.
There are so many font programs out there other than the generic ones available on Microsoft Office. I use dafont.com many times. This site has a variety of fonts in any category from whimsical to serious to western. It’s crazy how many are available. If you use a really unique font on your book title, people will be saying where did they get that font.
Make sure it’s readable. I found a really cool font the other day and when we put it on the cover we were designing, well let’s just say me and my partner started laughing. We had no idea what it said and we knew, but still couldn’t read it. That’s not a good thing.
So, what font do you use? Where do you get your greatest fonts? Have you tried any crazy fonts lately?
Have a great Friday…
